Pray for the root lineage blessings In the Purification Hall.
Form the Padmakumara Mudra and recite the Padmakumara Mantra seven times to pray for the success of the lineage blessing ceremony.
Recite the Supplication for the Blessings of Living Buddha Lian-sheng. (One time)
Sequence of the ritual (main part): Visualize Vajrasattva appearing in the space in front of one.
Practitioner presiding over the Purification and Blessing Ritual holds the broom and performs the ritual while facing the attendees who come for purification.
Face the broom toward the backs of adults, children, men and women. Sweep their backs lightly. (Three times)
Recite "First to sweep away afflictions. Second to sweep away bad luck. Third to sweep away karmic hindrances."
Recite "May there be auspiciousness, all wishes fulfilled, good health, longevity, and good fortune!"
Recite "Om, bie-zha, sah-do, hum.” (Three times)
Those receiving purification should place their palms together and also chant "Om, bie-zha, sah-do, hum."
End of the purification and blessing (end part): recite the long 100 Syllable Mantra (three times)
Recite the Completion Mantra: Om, Bu Lin. (3 times) Om Mani Padme Hum.
Dismissal: Clap twice, then cross hands and snap thumbs and middle fingers.
End of Ritual: xiu-fa yuan-man, ru-yi ji-xiang. May all endeavors be auspicious.
【Note】
To enable the blessing power of the broom, one should recite the 100 Syllable Mantra at least 100,000 times.
When the purification ritual is performed, it is best for those receiving purification to place their palms together and chant "Om, bie-zha, sah-do, hum".
There are two important points:
Recite the 100 Syllable Mantra at least 100,000 times. Ordained sangha should recite the long mantra. Lay practitioners may recite the short mantra.
Lay practitioners who meet the requirements may perform the ritual for purification of themselves and their family members only.
