The True Buddha Foundation (TBF) will strictly protect the intellectual property rights of True Buddha School (TBS) volunteers by taking legal action against any party who plagiarizes or otherwise uses the creative work of any TBS volunteer. For this reason, we are asking everyone to voluntarily honor and respect all laws and principles governing the intellectual property rights of TBS personnel.
Explanation:
TBF recognizes that the creative output of TBS volunteer personnel, such as pictures, videos, music, and writings, which is posted on official TBS media, represents the heartfelt effort of these volunteer personnel. Therefore, TBF makes every effort to obtain the consent and authorization of TBS volunteer personnel prior to posting their works on official TBS media. We are asking all members of the TBS community to likewise honor and respect the intellectual property rights of TBS volunteer personnel.
To establish a legal structure of intellectual property rights protection for TBS volunteer personnel, TBF has asked volunteer personnel to submit intellectual property such as images, videos, music and writings to TBF prior to public use. After TBF has received a letter from the volunteers authorizing use of the relevant intellectual property, the Publications Department will register and begin use of the approved material. All intellectual property which has been formally authorized for use in TBS media will receive legal protection.
Any party who plagiarizes works such as images, videos, music, written works etc. by True Buddha volunteers which have received intellectual property rights protection and have been posted in official TBS media (including True Buddha News, Enlightenment Magazine, TBS Network, and the TBS Facebook Pages) or illegally uses such work without the authorization of TBF or the holder of the intellectual property rights will be subject to investigation. In the event a preliminary investigation shows evidence of intellectual property rights violation, TBF will first advise the violator. If necessary, and with the consent of the intellectual property right holder, TBF will initiate appropriate legal action against the violator.
Before using or posting legally protected pictures, videos, music, writings or other works in TBS official media, those seeking to use such material should become informed about regulations governing use of the intellectual property by inquiring to the TBF Publications Department.
