Congratulations to Living Buddha Lian-sheng on the 38th anniversary of His Renunciation

On the 10th day of the 2nd lunar month, 1986, Living Buddha Lian-sheng was ordained at the True Buddha Tantric Quarter. This year marks the 38th anniversary of Living Buddha Lian-sheng’s ordination.

In 1975, a monk named Shitou persuaded Living Buddha Lian-sheng to become ordained. Living Buddha Lian-sheng responded by saying, “When I truly experience great bliss upon seeing buddhas, derive immense benefits upon seeing Bodhidharma, and attain great immutability upon seeing an ordained monk, I will take ordination.”

Living Buddha Lian-sheng was formally ordained on the 10th day of the 2nd lunar month, 1986 because:
“I saw buddhas and experienced great bliss” -- I actually attained spiritual union with the supreme consciousness of the universe. After attaining enlightenment, I saw buddhas and realized the significance of life. My mind was illuminated, and I realized my Buddha-nature, gaining control over life and death. The immense bliss I experienced was limitless and eternal.

“I saw Bodhidharma and derived immense benefits”— I genuinely comprehended Buddhadharma, from subtle practices to supreme teachings that disclose the ultimate truth. As each Dharma revealed itself from within my heart, I gained a comprehensive understanding of Sutrayana and Vajrayana, as well as the complete benefits of Samadhi. I was able to spread Mahayana teachings to the people of this world. After encountering Bodhidharma and attaining the Dharma’s benefits, I will share this great reward with all sentient beings.

“I saw ordination as a condition of great immutability”—I fully realized that I had achieved infinite non-hindrance and True Suchness in this universe. I have gained eternal emancipation without confusion, a state of ultimate immutability. I live forever in a state of omnipresence where the six supernatural powers are unhindered.
