【Padmasambhava Mudra:】
      

Cross the hands, with the right hand in front of the left so that they are back to back. Hook the two little fingers onto each other. Extend the index fingers so they point to the sky at an angle. Press the thumbs upon the middle and ring fingers of each hand respectively so that they clench. Hold the mudra at chest level.

【Padmasambhava Dharmalakṣaṇa Brief Introduction】
Padmasambhava wears a jewel crown. His body is pink, he holds a vajra scepter in his right hand, a nectar-and-jewels filled skull cup in his left hand, and a trident staff (khatvanga, authority staff) in the curve of his left elbow. He sits on a moon disc atop a lotus and his body radiates the light of hundreds of jewels.

【Living Buddha Lian-sheng Sheng-yen Lu Dharma Discourse - Padmasambhava Background and Key Cultivation Formula】
Padmasambhava, the Lotus-born Guru, is also called the Sea-born Vajra. He was born a lotus youth inside a five-colored lotus on the Danakosha Sea in Western India. He is the vajra emanation of the three secrets of body, speech and mind of Amitabha Buddha, Guanyin Bodhisattva, and Shakyamuni Buddha.

The reason Padmasambhava is called Guru Padmasambhava is because he was born inside an enormous lotus in the Danakosha Sea. Therefore, he is a genuine Padmakumara. In ancient India, a lake was referred to as a sea.

At the invitation of the Tibetan King Trisong Detsen, Padmasambhava came to Tibet from India to transmit the Buddhist teachings. While in Tibet, Padmasambhava subjugated all the Bonpo spirits and converted them into protectors of the Vajrayana teachings. Padmasambhava became the first lineage guru of Tibetan Buddhism, and it was through his efforts that Vajrayana Buddhism spread to the entire world.

Padmasambhava spread Buddhadharma in Tibet for fifty years and established Semye Temple (Ren Yun Temple). He is known as Guru Rinpoche by the Tibetan people, and is venerated as the greatest and most precious lineage master by all four schools of Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism. It is due to the great blessings of Padmasambhava and the foundation that he laid that Buddhism has flourished in Tibet up to the present day. If one enters into spiritual union with Padmasambhava, he will become one's guru, personal deity, and protector.

Padmasambhava, the Lotus Master, is the revered Root Lineage Guru of Living Buddha Lian-sheng Sheng-yen Lu. It was the Lotus Master who bestowed the red crown on me [Living Buddha Lian-sheng] while I was in meditation, giving me the name ''Holy Red Crown Vajra Master''. Also, while I was in meditation, Padmasambhava took me to a golden grave and taught me the Great Perfection, the highest and most supreme teaching of the Nyingma School. Therefore, Living Buddha Lian-sheng Sheng-yen Lu did truly receive the authentic transmission from Padmasambhava.

Padmasambhava bestowed two extraordinary empowerments on Living Buddha Lian-sheng Sheng-yen Lu:
  1. Padmasambhava transformed me [Living Buddha Lian-sheng] into a light drop, swallowed me, and released me through his root chakra. This signified that I am Padmasambhava and Padmasambhava is me, without any duality or distinction. I am the emanation of a light drop of Padmasambhava.
  2. Padmasambhava radiated light from every pore of his body and these light rays entered into every pore of my body. This indicated that every cultivation practice accomplished by Padmasambhava was emanated as rays of light and transformed into an empowerment in my body. I obtained the complete empowerment of Padmasambhava.
The words (six characters) Padmasambhava left to his disciples when he departed the saha world are ''Honor the Guru, Treasure the Dharma, Practice Diligently.''

Padmasambhava has the highly secret vajra dharma within his body. He has the vajra nature within his body. With the vajra nature, he is thus able to vanquish all heretical paths and destroy all black magic. All ghosts and spirits must obey any orders he may give them. The greatest secret is ''Vajra Nature to Subjugate Demons.'' Padmasambhava is a wrathful Vajra who is able to subjugate demons. If oppressed by evil spirits, one need only cultivate the dharma of Padmasambhava and touch the evil spirits with the red light radiating from the vajra mudra. The evil spirits will run away and never again try to harm a good and virtuous person.

The secret of the personal deity practice of Padmasambhava can eliminate illness, give longevity, ensure that one always has sufficient food, provide great good fortune, eradicate all kinds of disasters and difficulties, and prevent the occurrence of calamities and misfortune. Family destiny will be highly auspicious; if one seeks children one will have children, and if one seeks wealth one will obtain wealth.

Padmasambhava has reached complete and perfect enlightenment and the attainment equivalent to that of the Five Wisdom Buddhas. He has the expedient means to deliver sentient beings, and all his capabilities are complete and perfect in every way. He is able to fulfill the wishes of sentient beings and bring them every kind of benefit. His five Buddha Mothers are Yeshe Tsogyal, Mandarava, Kalasiddhi, Sakya Devi, and Tashi Kyedren.

Padmasambhava is an adept of both the Sutrayana and Vajrayana teachings, making no distinction between them. From Shakyamuni, he obtained the in-depth key lineage formula for the absolute and supreme siddhis of Sutrayana and Vajrayana in an authentic lineage. Padmasambhava has perfected all three karmas of vajra body, speech and mind, the three bodies of Dharma body, enjoyment body, and emanation body, the secret key instructions for attaining enlightenment, as well as the expedient means of purification, enrichment, magnetization, and subjugation for the purpose of salvaging sentient beings.

It was Padmasambhava who originally brought Vajrayana to Tibet, and he is revered by all the schools of Tibetan Buddhism-Nyingma, Gelug, Kagyu, and Sakya. An extraordinarily large number of Dharma teachings have been transmitted by Padmasambhava, the greatest of which is the Vajrayana Great Perfection.

If a practitioner attains spiritual union with Padmasambhava, the practitioner will gain longevity and infinite life. The practitioner will be forever youthful and have tremendous dharma power.

Spiritual union with Padmasambhava is equivalent to spiritual union with Shakyamuni Buddha, Amitabha Buddha, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, and indeed all buddhas. Hence, this deity is exceptionally great and extraordinarily important.

His Holiness Living Buddha Lian-sheng Debut Transmission of Padmasambhava Rainbow Light Transformation Practice and Discourse on Dec. 11, 2022

As long as you receive empowerment for the Rainbow Light Transformation Practice, the pinnacle of the nine vehicles, you will be able to transform into rainbow light.

The supreme key cultivation formula of the entire Great Perfection and Mahamudra is no-thought. No-thought is supreme enlightenment, namely annutara-samyak-sambodhi. Annutara-samyak-sambodhi is no-thought, namely supreme enlightenment. In the future, every person will experience no-thought, but will be scatterbrained and cycle through the six realms of samsara. Before one passes away, one must understand no-thought, and when the time comes, one’s body will emit light. This light will radiate from one’s body. This is annutara-samyak-sambodhi.

In Vajrayana cultivation, the first step is purification of body, speech, and mind.

When one’s meditation reaches the state of “no thought”, when there are no thoughts, this state is absolute purity.

It is written in my True Buddha Sutra: In cultivation, the key to realizing the Buddha Jewel Sambodhi is a quiescent mind. How does one radiate light? No-thought is light. Remember this key cultivation formula.

The supreme key cultivation formula of the Great Perfection is no-thought. The supreme key cultivation formula of Mahamudra is no-thought. Qi, channels, and light drops are light, so are red bodhi and white bodhi. However, in the state of no-thought, one’s entire body transforms into rainbow light.

Sariputra, Shakyamuni Buddha’s principal disciple, cultivated no-thought. From thoughts to the absolute, absolute transforms into emptiness, which is no-thought. It’s written in my True Buddha Sutra: In cultivation, the key to realizing the Buddha Jewel Sambodhi is a quiescent mind. When one reaches the state of no-thought, one’s entire body will radiate light. When cultivating, our conduct is uncontrived-not fake or phony. Padmakumara has never said a word that was fake.

I’m telling the truth when I say: In cultivation, “no-thought” is supreme purification. Therefore, the True Buddha Sutra states: “In cultivation, the key to realizing the Buddha Jewel Sambodhi is a quiescent mind.”

Externally, one must abide by the precepts. Laypeople abide by the five precepts and ordained sangha abide by the full precepts.
How do we cultivate? Externally, one abides by Shakyamuni’s precepts. Laypeople abide by the precepts of no killing, no stealing, no sexual misconduct, no lying, and no drinking alcohol. Lay practitioners must abide by the five major precepts: not killing, not stealing, not lying, not drinking alcohol, and not engaging in sexual misconduct.

Ordained Sangha must abide by the full precepts. Monks have 250 precepts; nuns have 500 precepts. Externally, one must abide by the precepts.

Internally, Cultivating Qi, Channels, and Light Drops Purifying Habitual Tendencies by No Though. With Bodhicitta, Being Compassionate and Giving
Internally, one cultivates qi, channels, and light drops. There are red light drops and white light drops. The red light drops are inner fire and the white light drops are Bodhi Moon Fluid. No-thought is how a practitioner purifies habitual tendencies. By merging meditation and wisdom into no-thought, one naturally purifies habitual tendencies accumulated over long ages. Everyone has the ability to purify habitual tendencies.

Then, there is giving bodhicitta. When Atisa arrived in Sumatra, Indonesia, he paid homage to his great master, Serlingpa. From Serlingpa, Atisa learned bodhicitta-a heart of compassion, and giving.

In Mahayoga, the main practice is spiritual union with the personal deity. In Anuyoga, one cultivates qi, channels, and light drops. In Atiyoga, one cultivates the state of no-thought; upon reaching this state, one’s body transforms into rainbow light.

Where does pure light come from? Where does light come from? From qi, channels, light drops, and no-thought. No-thought is the most important. In the state of no-thought, one’s body transforms into rainbow light.

When you study the technique of meditation, you proceed from many to one, from one to zero, and zero is emptiness. Emptiness is no-thought. No-thought is your original Buddha-nature. The rainbow light transformed from yourself merges into the universe. One is then annutara-samyak-sambodhi! You are the supreme enlightenment. You are always with void. You are the buddha!

Rainbow Light Transformation Practice is entering samadhi, cultivating qi, channels, and light drops, returning to one thought, transforming one thought into no-thought, and no-thought into producing light. This is the Rainbow Light Transformation Practice.
