On Aug. 3, 2014, a magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck Ludian City of Yunnan Province in China. It was reported that the quake collapsed more than twelve thousand houses and left over 30 thousand damaged. Traffic, electricity, and communications were all lost. It killed 391 people and injured more than 1800. Three are still missing. The toll is expected to increase. The devastation was compounded by rapidly rising bordering lakes formed from landslides blocking the Ninlan River near riverside villages of the town of Zhichangxian. If this river floods, it presents a new threat to about 800 residents, their properties, and safety.

TBF is calling on TBS disciples to uphold the compassionate teaching of Living Buddha Lian-sheng Sheng-yen Lu by chanting the mantra of ”Great Rescue,” and/or practicing True Buddha Sadhana. Chapters should hold group cultivations or ceremonies. Dedicate the merits to ”removing the terror of the dead, delivering them to the Western Blissful Land, relieving disaster, and facilitating the completion of post-disaster reconstruction.” Your donation will help victims and help rebuild their homeland.
