Grand Master had indicated, An Acharya who transmits empowerment must become the principal deity. He has to possess his own power, from practice, to be as one with the principal deity.
When speaking of when to transmit the empowerment, Grand Master explains, to give an empowerment, it is best for the Acharya to preform it when actually practicing the ritual of the principal deity. The Acharya must truly have practiced the ritual before transmitting the empowerment. He has the function of preserving dharma compliance.
Regardingsome recent ceremonies that included too many empowerments, Grand Master made the following discourse in the Tantric Quarter, Dharma compliance requires transmitting only the empowerment of the principal deity in the ceremony.
Consequently, the True Buddha Foundation now requests all future ceremonies presided by the Grand Master or blessed by the Grand Master through personal appearance, and those presided by the Acharyas, to be dharma compliant by exclusively transmitting the empowerment of or related to the principal deity.
