On a Sunday afternoon of October 25, 2009, the King of Dharma, Lian-Sheng the Living Buddha at the earnest request the Four Groups of disciples, exceptionally conducted the Maha Sitatapatra Buddhadevi Homa ceremony or the Great White Canopy Buddha-Mother (大白傘蓋佛母) Fire-Offering ceremony.
At 2:45 p.m. in the afternoon, after all attending devotees greeted the Grand Master with whom paid homage to the Mandala Shrine, he seated himself in the Homa Dharma Throne and proceeded to conduct the Fire-Offering ceremony which came off satisfactorily and peculiarly solemn.
After the Homa ceremony, the King of Dharma, Grand Master concisely elaborated on the origination of the Great White Canopy Buddha-Mother as follows: ``During the period when Asuru (阿修羅) army waged a war against Sakra Devanam-Indra (帝釋天), who was eventually defeated by the Asura army. Then, Sakra Devanam-Indra appealed to Sakaymuni Buddha for help. Sakyamuni Buddha then manifested a formidable Buddhadevi (Buddha-Mother) atop His head. The formidable Buddhadevi has one thousand hands, one thousand eyes, 3 faces to each tier of her head, a canopy in the left hand and the right hand formed the Fear-Less mudra. Meanwhile, Sakyamuni Buddha recited the Dharani of Maha Sitatapatra Buddhadevi and the Buddhadevi proceeded to shield the whole realm of Sakra Devanam-Indra with her power. As a result, the Asuru army could no longer further their invasion on Sakra Devanam-Indra realm and the war was hence put to rest.``
Grand Master further elaborated: ``The power of Maha Sitatapatra Buddhadevi is immeasurably fierce,`` the tantra-dharma of Maha Sitatapatra Buddhadevi can be applied to the 4 aspects of tantrayana, i.e., purification, enhancement, magnetization and subjugation; it can protect a nation (from invasion); it can eradicate natural calamities, e.g., earthquake, flood, fire, and tornado; it can expel all hateful enemies; and, it can subdue all malicious spells and curses...
Grand Master further deployed his highest and perfect Prajna or Buddha-Wisdom in expounding the significantly insightful subject of Kamamudra in the literary works originated by Sri Hevajra. Grand Master pointed out: the Twin-Bodied Buddha is the same as the Joyful Buddha who symbolically represents ``Emptiness``, ``Wisdom``,
``Yogatantra`` and ``One-Characteristic,`` thereby one can attain the Concurrent Wisdom and terminate the Four Modes of Birth. The practice of Kamamudra also represents Emptiness and Bliss which can be merged as One Characteristic, thereby one can enter Emptiness and attain the Buddha-Nature.
In the after-Homa discourse, Grand Master also counseled the disciples of all Four Groups against committing deceitful acts in the name ``Grand Master`` or ``Shimu`` which could bring forth misinformation and disrupt the integrity within the organization.
Grand Master again indicated: Grand Master behaves in accordance with compassion, rationale and law, all of which are within the boundary of the principles of Buddhism. Furthermore, Grand Master never opens his mouth to ask people (disciples and laity) for money; it`s all based on free-will donation!
After the discourse ended, the compassionate Grand Master, the Living Buddha Lian-Sheng bestowed the empowerment of the Maha Sitatapatra Buddhadevi Yoga (the Great White Canopy Buddha-Mother Yoga) on all attending followers. The ceremonial assembly ended on gratitude and dharma-bliss within the heart of all attendees.
