Xie Ah Chun, an elderly Bodhisattva ,is the grandmother of Thubten Siddhi Rinpoche. On January 11th, 2014, at the age of 82, during the Padmasambhava Fire Offering ceremony at Taiwan Lei Tsang Temple, she, according to her wish, was peacefully received by the Buddha and delivered to the Maha Twin Lotus Ponds at the Western Pure Land of Bliss.

After every ceremony of Taiwan Lei Tsang Temple, Grand Master always gives empowerments of blessings to everyone waiting in line. Among them, one would always see an elderly compassionate bodhisattva sitting peacefully in a wheelchair. Her daughter, Dharma Sister Lan (the mother of Thubten Siddhi Rinpoche) was always behind her, tenderly caring for her while waiting to be blessed by Grand Master.

No matter how cold or how crowded it was, Bodhisattva Xie would be among them; and when it was her turn to be blessed, she would always weakly hold her palms together to show respect and gratitude for Grand Master.

This emotional image has always been fresh in my memory, until the 11th, when I did not see her in the crowd. That is because Bodhisattva Xie had entered nirvana peacefully in the nursing station at the Taiwan Lei Tsang Temple, after being blessed by Grand Master, just as she wished. Dharma Sister Lan was grateful for empowerment by Grand Master and after hearing the unique achievement of nirvana of Bodhisattva Xie, I have great admiration for her!!

Bodhisattva Xie took refuge in Living Buddha Lian-sheng, Lu Sheng-yen in 1994. She was very diligent in cultivation and recited Grand Master
