Let us all come together to pray for Los Angeles
Living Buddha Lian-sheng has been tirelessly blessing Los Angeles day and night. The True Buddha Foundation is leading fellow disciples to chant the Disaster Relief Mantra and the Dragon King Mantra, praying for a reduction in disasters affecting sentient beings. The collective power of chanting these mantras cannot be underestimated. Let us come together to pray for Los Angeles!
Since January 7, California has been ravaged by wildfires. Under the influence of the powerful Santa Ana winds, the fires quickly spiraled out of control. To date, four major wildfires are still not fully contained. The Pacific Palisades area is the hardest hit. As of now, the disaster has resulted in at least seven fatalities, an economic loss of $57 billion (approximately NT$1.8753 trillion), over 6,000 buildings destroyed, and 200,000 people forced to evacuate. Houses have been reduced to ashes one after another, a heartbreaking sight. As of now, the fires are only 20% contained, making the affected area a true hell on earth.
According to the Associated Press, the Palisades fire in Los Angeles County first erupted at 10:30 AM and consumed 200 acres of land within just 20 minutes. By the evening of January 8, the fire had rapidly expanded to nearly 16,000 acres.
Subsequently, the Eaton, Hurst, and Woodley fires broke out, creating multiple points of ignition. The two main fire zones—the Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire—have now burned an area of 12,500 hectares, setting a record as the most severe wildfires in U.S. history.
