Amitabha Calamity Eradication, Blessing, and Deliverance Ceremony for Victims of Puyuma Express Accident in Taiwan on the 1st Seventh Day
【TBS Taiwan Lei Tsang Temple Report】
May those who died in this accident transcend the cycle of reincarnation and suffering and be reborn in the pure land! May those who were injured recover swiftly, be healthy, and have everything auspicious!
On Oct. 21, 2018, seven days after the Puyuma Express derailed in Yilan, Taiwan, people were still in deep distress over the shocking scene of the accident. One can imagine the terror passengers felt as the express overturned.
At 2:00 pm on Oct. 27th, 2018, the seventh day after the accident, the True Buddha School Vajrayana Association of R.O.C, Taiwan Lei Tsang Temple, and the Taiwan Lotus Light Charity Society held an Amitabha Buddha Calamity Eradication, Blessing, and Bardo Deliverance Ceremony to bless those who were injured in the accident and comfort the 18 victims who perished. The ceremony was held at the Western Realm located on the 2nd floor of Taiwan Lei Tsang Temple. Master Lianou(歐) presided over the ceremony. Master Lianzhe(哲), Master Lianzai (栽), Master Lianfeng(風), Master Lianqin(勤), Master Lianwei(衛), Master Lianzai (哉), many reverends, dharma brothers and dharma sisters were also present to support the ceremony. Everyone prayed that the buddhas and bodhisattvas would shine their light to bless the victims!
In conjunction with this ceremony, a Thousand-eyed-thousand-armed Guanyin Bodhisattva Blessing and Bardo Deliverance Homa Ceremony was held by TBS chapters in northern Taiwan together with the TBS Lotus Light Charity Society. For the benefit of sentient beings, TBS disciples sincerely chanted the Incense Praise with heartfelt compassion and the aspiration of prayer, filling the venue with sounds of spirituality and magnificence. It was not only these sounds which filled Taiwan Lei Tsang Temple; the sounds of buddhas and bodhisattvas of all the dharma realms were also heard!
Disciples dedicated all the merit of prostration, offerings, recitation of the buddha name, and recitation of the High King Sutra, Amitabha Sutra, Padmakumara Heart Mantra, the Disaster Relief Mantra, the Rebirth Mantra, and the Amitabha Heart Mantra, to the 18 victims who were killed in the accident. The merit was dedicated to the eradication of the karmic obstacles of the deceased, freeing the deceased from fear, and helping them transcend suffering and gain rebirth in the pure land!
Prayers were also made asking Root Guru Living Buddha Lian-sheng, Amitabha Buddha, Jade Pond Golden Mother, and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva to bless the more than 200 victims injured in the accident so they might quickly recover, become strong and healthy, and have everything auspicious!
The Puyuma Express incident was a manifestation of the principle that, just as the Buddha teaches, this saha world is ''suffering, emptiness, and impermanence.'' The only thing one takes with one upon death is one's karma! As Living Buddha Lian-sheng says ''Live one day, be happy one day. Live one day, be grateful one day. Live one day, cultivate one day.''
May we live each day fully so that our lives are not in vain.
Om. Guru. Lian-sheng. Siddhi. Hum.
