During the Mahottara Heruka Ceremony Supreme Dharma King Living Buddha Lian-sheng Sheng-yen Lu performed blessing and healing for everyone present so that those suffering from minor illnesses would recover immediately and those seriously ill would recover gradually! There were so many incredible spiritual responses that it was truly amazing.

On March 5, 2016, at Taiwan Lei Tsang Temple, Dharma King Living Buddha Lian-sheng Sheng-yen Lu presided over the Akasagarbha homa ceremony and gave a teaching on the ''Nine Stages Dharma of the Great Perfection (Dzogchen).''

During merit dedication, H.H. Living Buddha Lian-sheng prayed to Akasagarbha to grant everyone present good fortune, wisdom, perseverance, and power as boundless as the great void of space. He also prayed that everywhere would be illuminated brilliantly.

Following the homa H.H. Living Buddha Lian-sheng mentioned that both the Vajrapani Spring Ceremony and the Mahottara Heruka Ceremony were very successful and he thanked the volunteers for their hard work.

Although it had been rainy all during the week prior to the Mahottara Heruka ceremony, on the day of the ceremony itself the weather cleared up and the sun was shining brilliantly.

Just as H.H. Living Buddha Lian-sheng arrived at the ceremony venue countless pigeons rose up into the sky and circled the stupa three times…
Prior to his dharma discourse and transmission, H.H. Living Buddha Lian-sheng used the tremendous power of Mahottara Heruka's Hundred Civil and Martial Deities to bless the tens of thousands of faithful ceremony participants. Those with illnesses placed their hands on the affected body part and H.H. then performed blessing and healing for everyone present so that the sick would recover from their illnesses and regain good health. There were numerous instances of spiritual response resulting from this healing event.

On the day of the Mahottara Heruka ceremony there was a passenger who was not a disciple on a bus that happened to be passing by the ceremony venue. There was a tumor growing on his neck and that morning he still felt it there while he was shaving. He was on his way to the hospital for a check-up and as his bus was passing by the ceremony venue he heard the audience reciting the mantra of Mahottara Heruka. At that moment he suddenly felt a surge of spiritual energy flowing through his entire body including through the tumor. This was the first time he had ever experienced such an energy flow. When he got to the hospital an examination revealed that his tumour had simply disappeared without the use of any medication! He then recalled hearing the music of mantra recitation as he was passing by the ceremony venue. Curious about what had happened to him, upon further inquiry he discovered from a True Buddha School disciple that the event was the Mahottara Heruka ceremony presided over by Grandmaster!

Lianhua Cuilan, another witness to Grandmaster's healing, fervently expressed her gratitude to Grandmaster. She said that, during the dharma transmission of Mahottara Heruka, Grandmaster had requested everyone to recite the Mahottara Heruka mantra for an additional five minutes. In addition, Grandmaster had asked those with illnesses to place their hands on the affected body part. Accordingly, she pressed her thumb while reciting the mantra. Lianhua Cuilan had previously been in an accident and severed her thumb, which had to be surgically reconstructed. As a result of the accident it was impossible for her to bend her thumb. However, healing occurred and a miracle happened! Lianhua Cuilan felt a warm sensation in her hand and blood circulating. Immediately she was able to bend her injured thumb! Extremely moved by this truly amazing event, Lianhua Cuilan was reduced to tears on the spot and fervently expressed her utmost gratitude to Grandmaster for his healing power and kindness. It was truly incredible.

Another disciple, Lianhua Guangzhong from Sarawak, Malaysia also bore witness to a healing event at the Mahottara Heruka ceremony. Lianhua Guangzhong had a cyst, which was bigger in size than his wrist bone, on the back of his left hand near his wrist. This cyst miraculously disappeared after the spiritual healing and blessing event performed by the Root Guru and Mahottara Heruka. In fact, Lianhua Guangzhong did not realize that the cyst had disappeared until the following day when he was applying ointment to it.
In addition to these instances, there were many other examples of healing.

During his Akasagarbha dharma discourse H.H. Living Buddha Lian-sheng pointed out that through the dharma practice of Akasagarbha one gains wisdom, unfailing memory, fame, power, good fortune etc. Furthermore, Akasagarbha was one of the personal deities of Master Kukai.

According to the patriarch's transmission, the most important element of the Akasagarbha practice is to cultivate during the periods of solar and lunar eclipse. In Taiwan this year there will be a partial solar eclipse and a total lunar eclipse on March 9 and March 23 respectively. It's by practicing during the periods of solar and lunar eclipse that one can most easily attain spiritual union with Akasagarbha.

Akasagarbha has a Pure Land called ''Fragrant Realm.'' Some say that the Pure Land of Akasagarbha is all the stars in space and that his Pure Land extends throughout the vast infinity of space just as all the stars extend throughout the boundless cosmos. Hence, Akasagarbha has tremendous power and prestige.

H.H. Living Buddha Lian-sheng then continued with a discourse on the Great Perfection teaching. Only a Master with true and authentic understanding should transmit the Great Perfection dharma.

Just like the infinite void, the underlying principles of the Great Perfection dharma are vast and boundless.
It was because Grandmaster had merged with the void at the time of the Mahottara Ceremony that he could state that the mantra recitation had the power to heal everyone! Upon merging with the void all of one's wishes will be fulfilled!
''I am myself the void. All speech and language ultimately return to this boundless emptiness.''
By constantly upholding the ''paramita of patience'' in whatever circumstances one finds oneself in, one is always putting the teaching of the Great Perfection into practice!

Following his dharma discourse, H.H. Living Buddha Lian-sheng bestowed the empowerment of the magnificent ''Akasagarbha Dharma Practice'' upon tens of thousands of worshipers. The ceremony ended perfectly and auspiciously!
