On September 22, 2013, the Rainbow Temple earnestly asked His Holiness Living Buddha Lian Sheng to conduct the Kalachakra fire offering ceremony. His Holiness had disclosed before, \”Once you received the Kalachakra empowerment and passing under the empowerment banner three times, you will be cleansed of all past sins.\”

Almost four hundred were in attendance, including over a hundred primary supplicants. After the fire offering, Living Buddha Lian Sheng introduced the deity for next week’s ceremony - Amoghapasa Lokeshvara (Infallible Lasso Guan Yin). The power and merit of the Infallible Lasso Guan Yin rests in her vow of no prayer unanswered. All wishes are to be fulfilled.

His Holiness opened his teaching with Kalachakra, the day’s deity. Kalachakra is held in utmost esteem by all four schools of Tibetan Vajrayana. When Shakyamuni Buddha was teaching at the Vulture Peak (Ling Jiou) Mountain, His alter-self traveled to Shambhala, teaching the bodhisattvas in that world the Kalachakra dharma. The dharma of Kalachakra was later transmitted to the human realm, namely Tibet. The blue color in Kalachakra represents Qi (energy force.) The white represents the White Bodhi, and the red represents Red Bodhi.

Living Buddha Lian Sheng continued the teaching of Dzogchen with the Vajra Breathing exercise. The primordial Buddha in Vajrayana, Adi Buddha, is considered the very first Vajradhara. The Five Dhyani Buddhas are considered the Five Vajradharas. And the Dharma-Prince of the Five Dhyani Buddhas, Vajrasattava, is the Sixth Vajradhara. In the lineage chain, Living Buddha Lian Sheng is the seventh Vajradhara.
