In this book, I will share the various visions and physical sensations I experience during my meditation practice. The title of this book is: The Caress of the Pure Light. This is what happens when I meditate: My physical body merges with my mind and spirit as one. (One becomes unified with oneself.) In my view, this is the most essential aspect of meditation, for only through this can it truly be called “meditation practice.” At the moment of “guarding the one,” pure light naturally arises. The pure light descends, illuminating the self. One merges with the pure light in oneness. Dzogchen, The Nine Stages of the Great Perfection (Vol. 7)

“The teachings of Great Perfection are the pinnacle of Tantrayana teaching, just as Mount Everest or Shengmu Feng in the Himalayas is the highest summit in this world. The ultimate fruition of Great Perfection Dharma is the rainbow body phenomenon. Padmasambhava transformed his body into a rainbow and vanished into empty space. In our school, we have the third highest achievement in Master Lianhua Yimin whose cremated body left behind a multitude of sariras. The second highest achievement is the body transforming into rainbow light, with clothing, hair, fingernails and toenails left behind. From June 2, 2013, to May 28, 2016, H.H. Living Buddha Lian Sheng, Grand Master Sheng-Yen Lu, gave weekly teachings about the Great Perfection Dharma after homa ceremonies and group cultivation sessions. He explained the “outer three yanas” – shravaka-yana, pratyekabuddha-yana, and bodhisattva-yana; the “inner three yanas” – action tantra, performance tantra, and yoga tantra; and “supreme three yanas” – mahayoga, anuyoga, and atiyoga, which are collectively the nine stages of Nyingma encompassing all teachings within Tantrayana, as well as key concepts such as trekchö and tögal, thus providing a rare and precious introduction to these profound Dharma teachings.

Book 58, The Mystical Experiences of True Buddha Disciples

After more than twenty years of Buddhist Tantric practice, Master Sheng-Yen Lu, the founder of True Buddha School, has been able, during his meditation practice, to merge with the universe. He understands the secret of the universe and is truly enlightened. He has become a great adept and achieved the six transcendental powers. Since his enlightenment, many people have taken refuge in Master Sheng-Yen Lu.

When this book, The Mystical Experiences of True Buddha Disciples (the 58th book by Master Lu), was first published in Chinese, in May, 1985, there were about seventy thousand disciples. (As of 1993, the number of students who have taken refuge in Master Lu has surpassed one million.) Among those who took refuge in Master Lu, many have experienced psychic responses from their Master, and many wondrous and inconceivable miracles have occurred.

These miracles include the curing of terminal illnesses, as well as karmic illnesses, accurate spiritual predictions, warning of imminent disasters, and lottery winnings. A Belgian disciple was able to cure his neck cancer simply by sincerely chanting the Guru’s Heart Mantra “Om guru Lian Sheng siddhi hum.” A woman whose fetus died chanted the Guru’s Heart Mantra 100,000 times and the fetus came alive again. A lawyer’s daughter was cured of oxygen deficiency in the brain by consuming three magic charms (fu) of Master Lu. And many who practiced Guru Yoga received guidance in dreams to solve their personal problems. All these cases are authentic and are recorded in this book. They represent only a fraction of the innumerable cases of mystical experiences witnessed by Master Lu’s students.

In the Master’s own words, “… miracles will occur. One who experiences these will gain more confidence. Any student of True Buddha School who has mystical responses should treat them as encouragement, not become attached to them by becoming complacent. In addition, students should humbly improve and better themselves, pursuing correct results and attaining supreme perfect enlightenment.”
