Living Buddha Lian-sheng Recites Repaying Parents' Kindness Mantra, ''Na-mo-mi-li-duo, duo-po-ye, so-ha.''
By chanting the Repaying Parents' Kindness Mantra 49 times during July of the lunar calendar, one is able to repay the kindness of one's parents. This practice will extend the lifespan of living parents and deliver deceased parents. If on a given day one is unable to perform the practice, one can make up the mantra recitations the next day.
The following is excerpted from Living Buddha Lian-sheng Sheng-yen Lu Book 40, Paranormal Esoteric Practice, chapter titled Repaying Parents and Deliverance of Deceased:
I deeply realized that by chanting the Repaying Parents' Kindness Mantra, "Na-mo-mi-li-duo, duo-po-ye, so-ha" 49 times daily during July of the lunar calendar, one can repay the kindness of one's parents. This is an expedient practice. The costs of an Ullambana ceremony may be too expensive for an individual or a family, but the costs can be shared by a group of people while the benefit is the same. If a family cannot afford the expenses of an Ullambana ceremony, my advice to them is to chant the mantra 49 times daily during July of the lunar calendar. They will still be able to repay the kindness of their living parents or deliver their deceased parents. This is becoming a buddha in every household. The merit is immense.
