Today we performed a Vajravarahi Homa. The short mantra of Vajravarahi is ''Om, Duo-jie-pa-mu, So-ha,'' which is equivalent to calling her name. ''Duo-jie (Dorje in Tibetan)'' means vajra, ''pa-mu (Pakmo in Tibetan)'' is Varahi, and she is an emanation of Prajnaparamita. Of the ''Three turnings of the dharmacakra'' by the Buddha, the first turning was the ''Four Noble Truths.'' In yesterday's ceremony, what we had talked about was arahat's ''Shravakayana.'' It has four stages, Sotapanna, Sakadagami, Anagami, and Arahat. The second turning was under prajna system. ''Om, jie-di, jie-di, bo-luo-jie-di, bo-luo-seng-jie-di, pu-ti-sa-po-he,'' the incantation at the end of the ''Heart Sutra,'' belongs to the prajna system. The grand source of Vajravarahi is Prajnaparamita. In other words, Prajnaparamita is the grand origin of all buddha mothers. Dorje Pakmo, an incarnation of Prajnaparamita, is the grand source of all Dakinis, all motherly or wisdom system. Not only Nyingma School, but all schools use Vajravarahi. Nyingma has several great dharma protectors such as Simhamukha Dakini, Ekajati, and Rahula. We call Simhamukha Dakini as ''Singdongma;'' and Ekajati, ''Ahsongma.'' What about Rahula? His body looks like a dragon; he has many faces and is a great dharma protector. In China they call Rahula ''Comet,'' a star that has a long tail.

Vajravarahi is all Vajrayana practitioner's yogini, the principal deity for one to practice central channel, inner fire, drops, non-leakage, etc.. Therefore, this deity, Dorje Pakmo, is very important. If you practice ''inner fire practice'' you must pray to Vajravarahi for a blessing. Commonly speaking ''inner fire'' is a stack of two triangles. Vajravarahi is as the rising fire. Her posture and shape look like a red flame. She stands in the ''Dharma Generating Palace,'' which in general is what I refer to as a plane triangle, and Vajravarahi is standing in the middle. I then talk about standing triangles, and a stack of two standing triangles. Hence, Vajravarahi is equivalent to the grand principal deity of the entire Vajrayana yogis who practice the inner fire. From Vajravarahi, many Dakinis are emanated. That is why today we had 108 Vajravarahi Dorje Pakmos visit us in the void. When I completely concentrated on conducting the homa, all the Vajravarahis from the void entered my body through my central channel. They were able to purify my central channel, inner fire, all chakras including the five or the seven chakras, and light drops. What do they purify? They purify our central channel, ''chi,''and ''drops.'' Vajrayana Buddhism mentions that when Vajravarahi purifies your ''chi,'' you will transform into the Emanation Body; when Vajravarahi is purifying your central channel, it is equivalent to purifying your Enjoyment Body; when she is purifying your drops, you will transform into your Dharma Body. She is capable of purifying Trikaya of Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya, and Nirmanakaya. That is why, on the cultivation path, Vajravarahi is a very important deity. Regardless of internal or external practices, Vajravarahi can be one's principal deity. She has a single face, two arms and an exquisite young-girl's body that is red and nude. She stands in a dance-like posture with the bent right leg suspended in midair, and the left foot on a sun disc on top of a corpse lying on a lotus platform. Her entire body emanates radiant red lights that illuminate everywhere. Her hair goes upward. She wears a crown of five human skulls. The side of her head has a pig head, which represents ''Hai (pig belongs Hai),'' and she is therefore called ''Hai-mu (Varahi in Chinese).''

Vajravarahi's right hand holds aloft a kartika, the left, a ''kapala (a skullcup made from a human skull)'' filled with blood in front of her chest. Her left shoulder embraces a celestial staff solemnly adorned with vajra scepter and three human heads. It is also called ''khatvanga (it represents the eradication of ignorance, attachment, and aversion).'' We knew that the principle deity of today's homa holds a ''khatvanga.'' Padmasambhava and Simhamukha Dakini, Singdongma, also hold a ''khatvanga.'' They and Padmasambhava are actually all interrelated, because they all hold the same ''khatvanga.''
