Living Buddha Lian-sheng Sheng-yen Lu Discourse on Golden Mother with Infinite Hands and Eyes at  Emperor Temple in Taiwan on Jan. 8, 2023

The deity today is Golden Mother with Infinite Hands and Eyes. We often recite Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva who has one hundred billion emanations. We also know that Amitabha Buddha has 36 trillion 119 thousand and 500 emanations. As you can see, there are so many incarnations of Amitabha Buddha, 36 trillion. It’s impossible to count them all!

I’ve been paying homage to Jade Pond Golden Mother since I was 26, so it’s been at least 50 years. Every night, I recite her name. How do I recite it? By drawing out her name. Let me demonstrate: (Grandmaster recites the sacred name of Golden Mother)

I recite Golden Mother’s name in this manner every night. While concentrating on the name of Jade Pond Golden Mother, I also practice my singing voice. This is the Yoga of One-pointedness. Because I recite the name of my personal deity, Golden Mother of the Jade Pond, with single-minded devotion she is always with me. 

By invoking the command of Jade Pond Golden Mother, all wishes come true; one’s thoughts will become reality, one’s health will be excellent, one’s wishes will be fulfilled, and all sentient beings will be saved equally. For this reason, Golden Mother is revered by all True Buddha School (TBS) disciples. Since TBS has five million disciples, Golden Mother has five million emanations. Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva has infinite emanations, Amitabha Buddha has 36 trillion, 119 thousand and 500 emanations, including of course, Golden Mother with Infinite Hands and Eyes. Golden Mother likewise has myriad emanations.

Grandmaster Lu blessed the Jade Pond Mother in the headquarters of Cihui Temple while visiting Hualien, Taiwan. Since there are thousands of Cihui Temples in Taiwan, Golden Mother is now saving sentient beings through the branches. Therefore, Golden Mother is truly amazing. Today, I prayed to Golden Mother to manifest her infinite hands and eyes, watch over all TBS disciples, and provide them with whatever they require. May all TBS disciples have their wishes fulfilled, and enjoy good health, those who are sick recover quickly, those who are healthy become stronger, and all have attainment in spiritual cultivation. 

Today, I am transmitting the mantra of the Great Celestially Venerated Jade Pond Golden Mother with Infinite Hands and Eyes. Her mantra is: “Om, jin-mu-sid-dhi, da-mo, seh.” 

“Seh” is her seed syllable.

In terms of her mudra, Golden Mother is in the middle with her hands and eyes to the side, similar to the mudra used by the lovely dancers in the Thousand-armed, Thousand-eyed dance performance. The mudras are basically the same. Take a good look at it. 

We now have the mudra and mantra. As to the image, is it true that in the future, the Emperor Temple will build a statue of Golden Mother with Infinite Hands and Eyes? Then, there will be an object for visualization. What happened to the painting? Hold it up so the audience on both sides can see it. Everyone can see the solemn and beautiful image of Golden Mother with Infinite Hands and Eyes. In Vajrayana, when there is a mantra, a mudra, and an image, a sadhana can be established. Actually, all the cultivation methods were put into writing by the lineage masters.

Reciting the mantra “Om, jin-mu-sid-dhi, da-mo, seh” denotes purity of speech; forming the mudra represents purity of body; visualizing Golden Mother’s image represents purity of mind. Visualization purifies mind, body and speech. The purpose of cultivation, after all, is purification of mind, body, and speech. 

The seed syllable "Seh" transforms into Golden Mother with Infinite Hands and Eyes. As her image manifests, one visualizes, recites her mantra, forms her mudra, and then enters Samadhi. This is the core part of the practice. 

One first performs the Great Homage, the Mandala Offering, the Fourfold Refuge and Repentance. After emerging from Samadhi, one concludes the practice by reciting the praise verse, dedicating the merit, performing the Great Homage, and exiting the shrine. This constitutes the full sadhana.

Where is the True Buddha Foundation Director of Dharma Affairs? Master Liandong, do you know it now? Could you compile the sadhana and make it available to all TBS disciples? Master Lianhe, the Director of Education, will then teach everyone how to cultivate individually or as a group.

Golden Mother’s infinite hands benefit all TBS disciples. Her infinite eyes respond to and save those who are suffering. Today, there is a very powerful wealth deity, Padmakumara, the Great Fortune Vajra. Since relying on Golden Mother of the Jade Pond, all my wishes have been fulfilled.

By praying to Golden Mother with Infinite Hands and Eyes, all one’s wishes will come true. One can pray to her to perfectly fulfill all one’s wishes for sentient beings, and at the same time, the wealth deity will pay a visit to one's home.

Everyone should now clearly understand my introduction of Golden Mother with Infinite Hands and Eyes. The mantra, visualization, and mudra establish a sadhana for cultivation.

Today, you all performed exceptionally well. The dancing girls were stunning, the wealth god looked just like a wealth god, and everything turned out perfectly.
