Lotus Light Charity Society
Unflagging Compassion for the Poor and Sick
6 December 2020
Volunteers from Lotus Light Charity Society (Malaysia) - Bukit Mertajam Branch(大山腳分會) visited 13 households on 21 November and 5 December 2020, and presented them with financial assistance of 1,000 Ringgit each.
Bukit Mertajam Branch is very grateful to fellow dharma brothers and sisters as well as kind-hearted benefactors for their generosity, enabling them to help ease the financial burdens of the poor and sick especially during the pandemic.
Meanwhile, on 5th and 7th December 2020, Lotus Light Charity Society (Malaysia) – Jin Hai Branch(金海分會) drove two trucks filled with 140 and 112 Lotus Light Gift Packs respectively, and delivered them to families in need in Kampung Orang Asli Simpang Arang, an indigenous village in the remote area of Gelang Patah, Johor.
Batin Nordin, the tribal chief, his wife, and the village committee also helped to distribute the assistance supplies together. Despite the pouring rain, everyone worked cheerfully in high spirits, unhindered, and completed this mission successfully. Jin Hai Branch is very grateful to the Federation of True Buddha School Malaysia for their support, Lotus Light volunteers for their tireless efforts, and for the generosity of all benefactors, dharma brothers and sisters.
When the world is struck by disaster, deep gratitude goes to everyone still willing to support each other and not forgetting those less advantaged, continuing to care for the poor and sick, offering compassionate warmth and loving-kindness.
