Meanwhile, in the deep verdant mountains near Gua Musang at Kelantan and Tasik Belum – Temenggor, Titiwangsa Range – the northern spine of Peninsula Malaysia, live over 400 Orang Asli villages comprising indigenous people from Termier and Jehai ethnic tribes. In the past they used to live self-sufficiently in harmony with Mother Nature, almost completely isolated from contemporary society. However, due to unrestrained deforestation from illegal lodging activities, the daily lives of indigenous villagers were also deeply affected. Thus, in May 2015, the first “Touching Life, Bringing Hope” activity was launched, encouraging netizens in the Johor area to donate extra, unneeded items to give to indigenous villagers. This annual activity has continued into its 6th year, gathering second-hand items for the benefit of Orang Asli indigenous people.

On 24th September 2020, Lotus Light Charity Society (Malaysia) – Jin Hai Branch also participated in the 6th “Touching Life, Bringing Hope” activity, transporting items that had been gathered (such as clothes, books, bags, electrical appliances, dry food items and so on) to the collection point – a warm gesture of loving-kindness and goodwill that is also environmentally-friendly.
