Continuing Efforts in the Spirit of Loving-kindness

An immense “Thank you!” to Vermi Industries Sdn Bhd for their sincere donation of 100 bags of 4.8kg rice vermicelli on 7th June 2020, which was received by Lotus Light Charity Society (Malaysia) - Perak Branch representative, Deputy Secretary Mr. Liu Gui Xiang, and committee members Mr. Yang Guang Fa and Mr. Liu Jun Cheng. This generous gesture enabled LLCS (Malaysia) - Perak Branch to provide support to those less advantaged, such as Rumah Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Cacat, Negeri Perak - a welfare centre for handicapped children（霹靂州殘障兒童福利收容中心）, volunteers in Kampung Baru Bemban （民萬新村）and residents in nearby areas in need of assistance. 

On 9th June 2020, Hua Zang Group Cultivation Association LLCS Branch （華藏同修會分會）committee members and volunteers once again went to Taman Rimba, Mentakab （文德甲寶林園）, Taman Saga （英雄村）, Kampong Baru Mentakab - an indigenous village（文德甲新村）, and industrial areas to distribute Lotus Light Gift Packs of Loving Aid to over 40 households affected by the pandemic, helping to ease the pressures of day-to-day life. Recipients include poor families and migrant workers who depend on daily wages to sustain a living; some have been unemployed for almost 3 months due to the pandemic and are still unable to find work.  

On the afternoon of 13th June 2020, the Federation of True Buddha School Malaysia, Lotus Light Charity Society (Malaysia) - Chang Chun Group Cultivation Association Branch （長春同修會）and Jin Hai Group Cultivation Association Branch （金海同修會分會） went together to the indigenous village of Kampung Pasir Salam located in Ulu Tiram, Northeast District of Johor Bahru to distribute 42 Lotus Light Gift Packs and anti-pandemic protective supplies. At the same time, LLCS (Malaysia) volunteers also distributed rice vermicelli, masks and daily necessities to villagers in Kampung Baru Bemban and poor people living nearby, as well as villagers in Kampung Orang Asli Ulu Groh, Gopeng.   

On the afternoon of 17th June 2020, despite the light rain, Lotus Light Charity Society (Malaysia) - Jin Hai Branch prepared and distributed 20 over Lotus Light Gift Packs to residents in the Pakis housing area, in Taman Sri Pulai, Skudai, Johor.   

On 21st June 2020, Lotus Light Charity Society (Malaysia) went to the 8th indigenous village in the Johor Bahru district - Kampung Teluk Kabung （直落甘望原住民村）, and distributed supplies to over 30 families. 

During this time of mobility restriction due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Lotus Light Charity Society (Malaysia) has given out 640 Lotus Light Gift Packs to all 8 indigenous villages in the Johor Bahru area, assisting more than 3,000 people. 

An act of kindness by each person, and warmth is felt everywhere.

        To thank all benefactors* for their generosity and donations, the Federation of True Buddha School Malaysia, Lotus Light Charity Society (Malaysia) will send out masks embroidered with anti-pandemic talismans to each donor* who contributes to the fundraising campaign “Battling the Pandemic Together, Giving with Compassion” 「同心抗疫 • 慈心捐助」. 

        All proceeds from the fundraising campaign will be used to support and protect frontline anti-pandemic personnel, as well as care for less advantaged groups.
