Preface
A disciple named Yuanying came to the United States (Seattle) from another country.
He said, "I dreamed of Grandmaster Lu!"
I replied, "I dreamed about you too!"
"I dreamed I entered a vast forest and lost my way. I searched everywhere, but couldn't find a way out no matter how hard I tried. I was panicking, thinking that this was the end. I was rattled to the core. The wind was blowing fiercely and it was getting dark.”
"You met Grandmaster Lu, right?"
"Yes."
"You noticed a point of light, walked toward it, then saw an octagonal pavilion. Grandmaster Lu was sitting inside the pavilion, waiting for you. Correct?"
"Yes! This was exactly my dream! Grandmaster! How did you know? "
"I held your hand, rose into the void, and took you flying."
The disciple was amazed, "That's right, that's right."
I said to him, "In the dream, as I held you by the hand, we flew into the void, sailing over vast forests, through the heavens, to the Milky Way full of lotus flowers…"
The disciple was stunned, "This was indeed the same dream I had. Grandmaster Lu! Your dream was exactly the same as your disciple's dream."
In the dream, the disciple asked, "Grandmaster Lu! You are Padmakumara. What is your disciple?"
I answered, "You are also a Padmakumara!"

The dream inspired this insight:
Padmakumara is a dream. (All sentient beings are Padmakumaras)
I dreamt of him.
He dreamt of me.
From this we know:
Padmakumara and sentient beings are inseparable. (Buddhas and sentient beings are one and the same.)
This is true of all phenomena. (All sentient beings have Buddha nature.)
This is true of all sentient beings.
I understood: "This is the Dharma gate of infinite lamps."
I now understand even more clearly: "My vow is to never abandon a single sentient being."

I can tell you this in all truth: The disciple’s dream and Grandmaster Lu’s dream were coherently connected throughout and exactly the same in all respects.
One could say this is extraordinary, and indeed it truly is.
One could say this is not extraordinary, and it isn’t.
Why is this?
Wouldn’t you agree that Grandmaster Lu’s entire life is like a dream?
Completely illusional!
