True Buddha Foundation Notice
Document No.: TBF-Decl No. 0005
Subject: Warning Notice Regarding Individuals Falsely Using the Names of Grandmaster, Shimu, the True Buddha Foundation, or True Buddha School Masters to Solicit Funds Through Private Channels for Offerings, Blessings, Spiritual Consultations, and Other Services
To: All True Buddha School Vajrayana Associations Worldwide, True Buddha School Cultivation Venues, Dharma Propagation Personnel, Dharma Affairs Personnel, and All True Buddha School Disciples
Explanation
- The True Buddha Foundation (TBF) has recently received reports from fellow disciples that certain individuals are allegedly requesting funds from disciples under names such as “Grandmaster’s Special Channel,” “Grandmaster VIP Spiritual Consultation and Blessing Service Channel,” “Obtaining Blessings from Grandmaster or Shimu on Your Behalf,” “Exclusive Homa Service,” “Longevity Lamp Offering,” “Dragon Head Incense,” “Blood Relics,” “Specially Made Medicinal Pills,” and “Gold-Jewelry Blessings.” These individuals ask members to transfer money into personal bank accounts and claim that the funds can be delivered to Grandmaster, Shimu, or the TBF through designated persons, masters, cultivation venues, or personnel in the United States.
- The TBF hereby solemnly declares:
- Since the beginning of Grandmaster’s Dharma propagation activities, offerings have always been based on voluntary giving according to one’s means and sincerity. When seeking blessings or spiritual consultation services for oneself, family members, or friends, disciples should remain calm and carefully assess the authenticity of any request involving exorbitant or fabricated charges.
- The TBF has never established any so-called “Grandmaster VIP Spiritual Consultation and Blessing Service Fee Channel,” nor has it authorized any individual to collect such payments through personal accounts.
- Any person who, in the name of Grandmaster, Shimu, the TBF, a True Buddha School master, cultivation venue, or any True Buddha School organization, privately solicits substantial sums of money from disciples while claiming to obtain special spiritual consultations on your behalf, blessings, homa services, longevity rites, lamp offerings, Dragon Head Incense, Blood Relics, medicinal pills, gold-jewelry blessings, or any other special services is making false representations. If there is any doubt, disciples should first verify the matter with the TBF or the relevant officially recognized cultivation venues and should not place trust in such claims without confirmation.
- Disciples wishing to make offerings, donations, register for ceremonies, sponsor lamps, participate in homa services, or engage in any religious activity should do so only through the officially announced procedures established by the TBF or by legally registered True Buddha School cultivation venues. Official receipts should always be obtained. Any request for payments to be transferred into a personal bank account, personal electronic payment account, or collected, transferred, withdrawn, or processed in an individual’s name should be regarded with caution to avoid fraud.
- If any True Buddha School Vajrayana Association, cultivation venue, Dharma propagation personnel, or Dharma affairs personnel receives inquiries regarding such incidents, they should immediately advise disciples to stop making payments and assist in preserving all relevant evidence, including chat records, remittance receipts, invoices, images, voice messages, bank account information, telephone numbers, and the names of persons involved. No information should be deleted, transferred, concealed, or otherwise tampered with.
- If any cultivation venue, or individual has received funds related to such incidents, the matter should be reported immediately to the TBF for investigation. Until the purpose and legitimacy of the funds have been verified, such monies should be recorded as temporarily received and pending review, and must not be used for any other purpose.
- The TBF will investigate such matters in accordance with the School’s constitution, regulations, and relevant policies. If it is found that any individual has collected funds by falsely using the names of Grandmaster, Shimu, the TBF, masters, cultivation venues, or the School; misused official seals; forged documents; fabricated religious services; misappropriated offering funds; infringed upon the rights and interests of disciples; or damaged the reputation of the School, the TBF will take serious action in accordance with applicable laws, precepts, and institutional regulations. When necessary, the TBF will also cooperate with victims in reporting such matters to local law enforcement authorities and pursuing legal responsibility.
- The TBF urges all disciples to let right faith, right view, and the authentic Dharma be the foundation of their faith. Offerings and support should likewise be conducted in a pure, transparent, and lawful manner. If anyone encounters individuals who seek to exploit others through the fraudulent activities described above, they should exercise careful judgment before making any payment and promptly report the matter to the TBF or an officially recognized local cultivation venue, providing all available supporting evidence.
