Do Not Use Grandmaster’s Name As a Pretext to Propose Fundraising Suggestions
Date:2023/08/1000:00(Taiwan time)
Please do not use Grandmaster’s name as a pretext to arbitrarily propose fundraising suggestions in the name of the Sheng-Yen Lu Foundation.
TBF-Decl No. 0004
After investigation, it has been found that recently, emails have been sent under the name “Taiwan True Buddha Disciple" to various True Buddha School (TBS) units, such as True Buddha Foundation (TBF), Dharma propagation units, major cultivation venues, and central publication units. These emails suggest supporting and cooperating with the Sheng-Yen Lu Foundation in launching a fundraising campaign for the establishment of a global medical fund for the poor and elderly under the pretext of celebrating the 80th sacred birthday of the Guru Buddha in 2024. They are also requesting worldwide True Buddha disciples to exert their best effort to donate and support this activity. In response to this incident, TBF hereby issues the following two statements:
The Sheng-Yen Lu Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization based in Washington, USA. While we are honored to receive the support and love of TBS disciples worldwide, we will never raise funds for personal reasons such as "celebrating Guru Buddha’s birthday."
TBF is the highest administrative unit of TBS. If fellow disciples have any suggestions, please feel free to submit them to TBF. However, please refrain from sending emails to other unrelated departments, cultivation venues, or central publication units of our sect, as this may lead to confusion and unnecessary waste of our precious administrative resources.
This announcement is hereby made for your information.
Best Regards,
True Buddha Foundation
