《Xin Chou Lunar New Year Wealth God Invitation Practice》

1. Prepare the following items:
   
   1. Three stems of auspicious grass
      (Because the Xin Chou Year is the Year of Ox, and an ox eats grass, preparing auspicious grass symbolizes auspiciousness and good luck in the new year.)
      
      
   2. A Red Treasure Bowl
      (In the 2021 Xin Chou Year, the south and the north are lucky directions. The south belongs to fire, so a red treasure bowl is used.)
      The red treasure bowl is completely filled with treasure, jewels, etc. The stems of auspicious grass are inserted in the bowl.
      
      The directions of the five elements as described in the Grand Rules of the Book of History in China are center-yellow, east-green, south-red, west-white, and north-black.
   
   
2. When to invite wealth deity: (either of the following two days)
   9th day of the first lunar month (Sat. Feb. 20, 2021, 11:00 AM-1:00 PM) or
   10th day of the first lunar month (Sun. Feb. 21, 2021, 9:00-11:00 AM)
   
   
3. Performing the Ritual:
   Carrying the red treasure bowl with three stems of auspicious grass inserted in it, step out the front door of one’s home. Face to the south, then take eight steps while reciting, “Wealth God, please come into my home!”
   In this way, one picks up the wealth god and brings the deity home. After returning home, place the treasure bowl in the wealth corner of one’s home.
