Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple Celebrates HH Living Buddha Liansheng's 82nd Birthday with a Joyous Evening Gala

On the auspicious summer day of July 2, 2026, under gentle breezes and clear skies, True Buddha School disciples from around the world gathered at Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple to celebrate the 82nd birthday of Root Lineage Guru, HH Living Buddha Liansheng, and to pray for Guru Buddha to remain in the world, continuing to turn the Dharma Wheel. Disciples traveled from all five continents to offer their birthday wishes, filling the Founding Temple with joy, gratitude, and a festive atmosphere.

That afternoon, as Grandmaster's vehicle slowly arrived at the temple, the grounds erupted in enthusiastic applause and cheers. Leading the celebration was Grandmaster's youngest granddaughter, Lu Yin, who emerged from the Tantric Quarter dressed in a delightful lion dance costume, charming everyone as she officially opened the birthday festivities. Adding to the surprise and excitement, Grandmaster himself took up the drum while Dharma Sister Fochi [Grandmaster’s daughter] played the cymbals, performing a lively lion dance together. The resounding drumbeats and auspicious lion dance immediately filled the temple with jubilant energy.

As dinner concluded and the birthday gala was about to begin at around 8:00 p.m., an extraordinary celestial spectacle quietly unfolded above Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple. Across approximately thirty miles of the greater Seattle area, countless people witnessed a magnificent double rainbow stretching across the sky. Even more remarkably, many observed the rare phenomenon of supernumerary rainbows, with delicate bands of color appearing in succession, creating a breathtaking display. This uncommon event was reported by several major Washington State media outlets, including KIRO 7 News and Yahoo News, which confirmed that, in addition to the double rainbow, some parts of the greater Seattle area even witnessed the extremely rare appearance of triple- and quadruple-banded supernumerary rainbows. It truly seemed as though heaven itself had manifested auspicious signs to join in celebrating this joyous occasion.

Following dinner, the birthday gala officially commenced, with Master Lianhe [蓮訶] and Dharma Sister Peijun [佩君] serving as the masters of ceremonies. Grandmaster was respectfully invited to the birthday Dharma seat of honor to enjoy a series of performances lovingly prepared by disciples. The evening opened with Sister Cindy's heartfelt rendition of Think of Me. Her pure, melodious voice echoed throughout the temple hall like heavenly music, setting a deeply touching tone for the celebration.

Next, Reverend Lianyi led disciples from Thailand, Myanmar, Mongolia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, all dressed in their traditional national attire and bearing birthday gifts, as they came forward one by one to present their heartfelt birthday wishes to Grandmaster. Their presentation beautifully demonstrated the unity and profound bonds shared by True Buddha School disciples across national boundaries.

The evening continued with an array of outstanding performances, including a vibrant dance by Rainbow Temple, a dynamic martial arts demonstration by Jing Yin Temple, a dance performance of Following You to the Ends of the Earth by the Four Heavenly Maidens of Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple, an entertaining theatrical presentation by Mingzhao Cultivation Association, the Prairie Song and Dance Ensemble's joyful performance of A Celebration of Wishes Fulfilled, and an inspiring saxophone performance by Dharma Brother Feige. Every performance conveyed the disciples' deepest gratitude, devotion, and birthday blessings for Grandmaster.

The most anticipated finale featured Masters Lianhe, Lianjia [蓮伽], and Lianyan [蓮彥], who collaborated to bring the classic story “Golden Horse Express Stewardess” from Grandmaster's Book 308, The Eternal Star, to life in a stage performance. Through dance and drama, they transported the audience back in time to relive one of Grandmaster's sincere and deeply moving love stories. Their heartfelt performance received thunderous applause from the audience.

As the evening drew to a close, Masters Lianzi [蓮紫] and Lianyang [蓮樣] led everyone in singing Grateful to True Buddha followed by Happy Birthday. Amid the warm and heartfelt singing, Grandmaster and Shimu were respectfully invited to the center of the altar to receive the sincerest birthday wishes from True Buddha School disciples around the world.

Afterward, Master Lianhua’chengtsu [蓮花程祖], President of the True Buddha Foundation, Master Lianyin [蓮吟], Abbot of Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple, and Master Lianqing [蓮晴], Abbot of Rainbow Temple, presented offerings to Grandmaster on behalf of all disciples, expressing their boundless gratitude, reverence, love, and unwavering support.

Grandmaster's 82nd birthday is not only a joyful occasion worthy of celebration, but also a precious opportunity for disciples to express their gratitude for Guru Buddha's compassion and to cherish the precious affinity with the Dharma.

With utmost sincerity, all disciples prayed for Guru Buddha's continued good health, longevity, non-hindrance, the ceaseless turning of the Dharma Wheel, happiness every day, and auspiciousness always.
