On January 26, 2020, Dharma King Living Buddha Lian-sheng presided over the homa ceremony of the Golden Mother of the Jade Pond.
The Dharma King said, as the Wuhan coronavirus continued to rage across the globe, Green Tara arrived in time to impart the 'mantra of the Tara who saves [sentient beings] from contagious diseases'. For the upcoming Avalokitesvara Spring homa ceremony on February 1, the Dharma King will debut the transmission and empowerment of the dharma of Yeshe Tsogyal, as well as the 'mantra of the Tara who saves [sentient beings] from contagious diseases'.
The Dharma King reminisced, when he was 26 years old, he met Madam Lin Qian Dai at the Jade Emperor Temple in Taichung. Under Madam Lin's guidance, his Deva-Eye (a.k.a. Heavenly Eye) was opened by Golden Mother. He was instructed by Golden Mother to succor sentient beings. At that time, he questioned whether he had the ability to do so, to which Golden Mother answered, "You will know whether you have that ability or not once you start."
That very night, Golden Mother gave the Dharma King a tour of the Ten Dharma Realms. He came to know that he originated from White Padmakumara. After that, the Dharma King embarked on the path of spiritual cultivation in Taoism, Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism, and he mastered the various stages to the point of virtuosity and fruition. He attained awakenment and achievement. "I made a vow at that time -- since Golden Mother wanted me to undertake tasks that save sentient beings and since I came from White Padmakumara, I would do so. Till today, I have never stopped."
Right now, the Dharma King has more than 5 million disciples and 56 Lei Tsang temples worldwide. Almost all of the latter feature the statues of Golden Mother.
Golden Mother is regarded as the most divine and the greatest deity in True Buddha School. The Dharma King expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Golden Mother, "Without Golden Mother, there wouldn't be Grandmaster Lu today." Golden Mother's powers and psychic ability are so miraculous and her status is so noble that she is considered the mother of all sentient beings. In fact, her status is so supreme that it is equivalent to that of Five Buddhas. The Dharma King's first spiritual union was with Golden Mother.
"If Golden Mother is willing to help me do something [for my dharma propagation work], then it will be successful," said the Dharma King, who recounted his cultivation experiences and was full of admiration about Golden Mother's majesty and spiritual responses. "Golden Mother is so great and formidable. Whatever I wish for [in my aid to others], she will fulfil for me. In the process, my entire life becomes completely immersed in spiritual cultivation and dharma propagation. The powers of Golden Mother are truly inconceivable," said the Dharma King. The Dharma King encouraged everyone to have faith and to persevere in spiritual cultivation.
In 1980, Golden Mother instructed Dharma King, "You will succor more people when you are in the US." Hence, in 1982, the Dharma King migrated to the USA. By dharma edict, the Dharma King will not ask for things or money from anyone. The Dharma King said, "I stand by my precepts at all times; my teachers taught me to adhere to the precepts. When you are able to emanate brilliance on your own, sentient beings will naturally come to you. Sentient beings will make offerings to you."
Everyday, the Dharma King is busy with the succoring of sentient beings. He said, "I write books, cultivate spiritually and practice cultivation sessions everyday. Besides undertaking these three activities, I also do astral travels at night to help sentient beings."
The Dharma King beseeched everyone to be strong in willpower and to be steadfast in spiritual cultivation. He added, "If you are wholehearted in what you give to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will pay you back and fulfil your wishes."
After the discourse, the Dharma King bestowed the empowerments of the dharma of Golden Mother and the 'mantra of the Tara who saves [sentient beings] from contagious diseases'. The event ended in auspiciousness.
