Mandalas of India's Three Major Deities at Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple Seattle

July 4, 2018 Consecration Ceremony for Mandalas of India's Three Major Deities at Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple Seattle

【Reported by Seattle LSCTT】
The geographical location of Seattle Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple (LSCTT) has given rise to an affinity with local residents from India. As a result, there are many local residents of Indian background who visit the temple to pray and worship. Inside LSCTT they find familiar deities such as Sakyamuni Buddha and Red Jambhala. Due to this affinity, many local Indian residents have taken refuge in Grandmaster and received Buddhist teachings from him.

The mission of the Root Guru is to extensively teach and widely deliver all sentient beings, To honor this mission, Seattle LSCTT recently constructed a shrine dedicated to India's three major deities. On July 4, 2018 Grandmaster compassionately performed a consecration ceremony for the shrine.

The mandala was arranged with Vishnu, the Preserver, in the middle, Mahabrahma, the Creator, on the dragon side, and Shiva, the Destroyer, on the tiger side. The lineage tree mandala of the True Buddha School (TBS) is the backdrop of the shrine.

Following a consecration ceremony, Grandmaster discoursed the background of the three deities. Grandmaster remarked that Vishnu, the Preserver, is foremost of the three deities. Brahma, the Creator, resides in Form Realm Heaven. Mahesvara, namely Shiva, the Destroyer, is said to be the ''king of kings'' of the highest heaven in the Desire Heaven. Shiva is most commonly enshrined in temples in India.

The three deities each have their own mount: Mahabrahma is on a white goose; Vishnu, on a garuda; and Shiva, on a white bull. Red Jambhala, another deity highly venerated by the Indian people, is also enshrined in the Seattle LSCTT.

With the enshrinement of statues of the three major deities imported from India, Seattle LSCCT is expecting to become a peaceful retreat where many people from India can meditate and worship. We hope that this will be a spiritual environment where worshippers can gain the protection of these three powerful deities, and that even more sentient beings who have predestined affinity with TBS will be saved.
