Happy Dragon Boat Festival!
It is most auspicious to drink ''Rootless Water'' on the day of the Dragon Boat Festival
as it can eradicate misfortune caused by evil spirits!!


《Precious Dharma Words of Grandmaster Living Buddha Lian-sheng Sheng-yen Lu》：
A disciple asked ''How accurate is Dragon Boat Festival's Noon Water and Rootless Water?''
Grandmaster answered ''The day of the Dragon Boat Festival is a day when yin and yang interact. On this day 'yang energy' is at its strongest.''

Noon Water is water drawn from a spring or well between 11am and 1pm. Ordinary tap water is not Noon Water. It is also not Noon Water just because water is placed in the sunshine at noon or on the day of the Dragon Boat Festival. Actually, Noon Water has nothing to do with the sun.

《The essence of the dharma talk pertaining to the Dragon Boat Festival given by Dharma King Living Buddha Lian-sheng Sheng-yen Lu after group cultivation of Padmasambhava on Saturday, June 23rd, 2012, at Seattle Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple》：
During the noon hours on May 5th of the Lunar Calendar, yang is at its yearly peak. From the next day on yang gradually and steadily weakens. If during the noon hours on May 5th, which is the time when yang is at its peak, one drinks noon time Rootless Water all of one's negative energy for that year will be eradicated.

Basically, although one cultivates to completely eradicate one's yin energy it is impossible for one to completely eradicate one's yin. The truth is, yang always exists within yin and yin always exists with yang. According to the principle of yin and yang, yang is at its peak today during the noon hours. Therefore, on this day of peak yang energy it is auspicious to drink Rootless Water during the noon hours. After the noon hours have passed the rain is different.

One may perform the geomancy practices of Rootless Water and ''Bowl Practice'' by putting Rootless Water that is, pure yang water, in a bowl, and then placing the bowl in whatever spot is the most evil and inauspicious. If one places Rootless Water on the roof of one's house, one's house will become peaceful. This Rootless Water is therefore very significant. During this time, whether one drinks the Rootless Water or whether one attaches the bowl with Rootless Water in it to one's roof with superglue, one will be safe and peaceful even if one's house has the worst feng shui.

(Author Note: In the Suppressing Evil Spirits with Heavenly Water of Living Buddha Lian-sheng Sheng-yen Lu's Book 78, Geomantic Occult of Residences, Living Buddha Lian-sheng mentions that Rootless Water is actually rain that has not fallen on the ground. As this rain is caught in mid-air it is called Rootless Water.
