Key points of H.H. Living Buddha Lian-sheng's dharma discourse on November 27, 2016 at Ganlu Chapter :
H.H. Living Buddha Lian-sheng first thanked the temple abbots, namely Master Lianhuo, Master Lianshi and Master Lianzhu for their invitation. Today's ceremony turned out perfectly.

H.H. Living Buddha Lian-sheng then pointed out that the Seven Buddha Tathagatas of the Yogacara Ulka-Mukha each have their own role. For example, Amrta-raja Tathagata is able to grant netherworld beings the nectar of buddhadharma. Surupakaya Tathagata is able to restore torn apart bardo bodies to their original appearance and a wonderful, perfect form.

During today's ceremony disciples witnessed bardo beings who were originally black and engulfed in darkness emitting light from their entire bodies immediately upon receiving blessings from Grandmaster.

H.H. Living Buddha Lian-sheng mentioned the bardo deliverance of Chungyuan Universal Deliverance of ''Ullambana Festival'' originated with Maudgalyayana, a disciple of Buddha. Maudgalyayana was unable to overcome karmic retribution to save his mother from Hungry Ghost Realm even though he was considered ''number one'' in supernatural power. Buddha instructed Venerable Maudgalyayana to seek the help of ''five hundred arhats.'' Only then, with the help of their collective mind power, was Maudgalyayana's mother saved from the Hungry Ghost Realm.

The True Buddha School Yogacara Ulka-Mukha Sadhana was put together personally by Root Guru Living Buddha Lian-sheng. It is included in Grandmaster's book May of Northern Japan.

H.H. Living Buddha Lian-sheng discoursed: During a bardo deliverance ceremony a ''roll call'' is required when burning the joss paper. At this time dharma protectors such as the Char-faced Ghost King should be invited to be in charge of netherworld beings.

Otherwise, the situation will be no different from that of the Human Realm where there is fighting over food and money. Weaker bardo beings of the netherworld will end up without food or money because these will have been snatched away by younger and stronger bardo beings.

One's spiritual cultivation cannot be ''loaned out'' to others; one reaps what one sows. Not only is one responsible for one's own cultivation, one is also responsible for the resolution and settlement of one's karmic debts. Spiritual attainment is not something handed out to one by others. It is accomplished through one's own diligence.

One must therefore ask oneself whether one cultivates on a daily basis; one can only reap the reward of one's own cultivation.

The ceremony thus ended perfectly and auspiciously.
