“Wisdom begins with an in-depth study of the Buddhist canon.” With these words, HH Living Buddha Lian-sheng concisely pointed out the importance of making a deep and comprehensive study of the Buddhist canon. He also reminded disciples that whether practicing Sutrayana or Vajrayana, one must proceed according to stages. Although studying the True Buddha Tantric Dharma, one must still study the Buddhist sutras. Every disciple bears responsibility for spreading the Buddhadharma and the True Buddha Tantric Dharma!

The True Buddha Education Department upholds the guidance and teachings of the Guru Buddha, proceeds pragmatically, and ceaselessly devotes time and effort to furthering Buddhist education. The Education Department hopes that every True Buddha disciple will have a firm foundation in Sutrayana and practice Vajaryana truly so that one’s actual practice of Vajrayana will be clear, accurate, and lead to attainment of authentic spiritual response.

The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment was written by Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelug School of Tibetan Buddhism. This treatise extracts the profound meaning of the Twelve Divisions of the Tripitaka, and perfectly describes the stages of cultivation from the first steps all the way to enlightenment. It is a golden key which opens the treasury of Buddhadharma and guides practitioners to spiritual attainment.

Therefore, on May 18 (Tue.), True Buddha Online University will formally launch its second course, Introduction to Stages of the Path to Enlightenment. This course will be instructed by senior Masters Shi Lianman and Shi Lianchuan who will simplify this complex work and outline it in a form that is concise, vivid, and easy to comprehend, while bringing this ancient instructional treatise into the modern era. We are thankful for the compassion of Masters Lianman and Lianchuan who allowed students to experience this new course by presenting the preview of the first six sessions of the course in advance.
