An Earnest Call to Tara With Millions of Mantra Recitations
To uphold the compassion of Living Buddha Lian-sheng, worldwide True Buddha School (TBS) masters, reverends, cultivation venues and disciples will once again unitedly recite the Green Tara Mantra to collect even greater and more powerful light energy.
On September 12, during the Green Tara Homa Ceremony presided over by Guru Buddha at the Rainbow Temple in Seattle, the merit of mantra recitation will be dedicated to the swift ending of the pandemic catastrophe and all natural disasters in the world.
On July 14, 2021, the True Buddha Foundation (TBF) was instructed by the Guru Buddha to pray to Green Tara as the principal deity for relieving worldwide disasters.
Guru Buddha discoursed that Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, the foremost bodhisattva of compassion, has saved infinite sentient beings, far surpassing all other bodhisattvas. Green Tara and White Tara are emanations of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. The entire world is facing severe disasters, and Green Tara must be invoked to help relieve them.

Tara, out of compassion, energetically and powerfully saves countless sentient beings. One who remembers Tara’s epithet will receive the great blessings of buddhas, relieve the suffering of the three realms, and escape all kinds of disasters. Because of the power of Tara's vow, the worse the world becomes, the faster it will be saved. The force to destroy demons will also become stronger. Tara is the principal deity undertaking the mission and merits of all the buddhas and bodhisattvas. Green Tara was transformed from tears of compassion for sentient beings shed by Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.
Out of compassion for those who have died from the pandemic, Living Buddha Lian-sheng transforms his tears into Dharma boats. For more than a year, he has delivered these spirits nightly without rest or sleep.
Living Buddha Lian-sheng further expounded: Green Tara protects all who are suffering. As long as there is suffering, she will provide protection and blessings. She bestows merit on sentient beings, enabling them to escape the ocean of suffering and attain happiness.
Green Tara transformed into 21 bodies. These emanations are able to relieve many disasters. They are known as the 21 Taras who are able to save beings from any and all disasters. These 21 Taras include Fire Relieving Tara, Flood Relieving Tara, Earthquake Relieving Tara, and Wind Relieving Tara. By practicing Green Tara, all disasters can be eliminated. This is very important.
Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the entire world has endured unprecedented suffering. Because of this suffering, which has been magnified by all kinds of natural and man-made disasters, the world has turned into a pathetic sight. People have been plunged into misery and cast down by grief.
Praying for the great blessing of the Guru Buddha, TBF is calling on masters, reverends, Dharma propagating personnel, cultivation venues, and all True Buddha disciples worldwide to unite and serve the Guru Buddha by turning the Dharma wheel of saving sentient beings. Let’s all come together once again to collect even greater and more powerful energy to quickly relieve the pandemic and all other human catastrophes.
May the world swiftly return to normalcy, and may everything be safe and auspicious.
