Let's all 5 million disciples worldwide recite the True Buddha Sutra one time to express our gratitude and appreciation to the Root Guru.

On the sacred day of Feb. 10, 1986 of lunar calendar, True Buddha School Root Guru Living Buddha Lian-sheng was ordained, leaving his mundane home for a Buddhist home.

Living Buddha Lian-sheng discoursed:
''One's true home is enlightenment; a home that is originally perfect, bright, vast, pure, natural, and nothingness.

Living Buddha Lian-sheng's departure from the mundane world symbolizes the transition from 100 years of ascetic practice into the state of bodhi, wishing to roam the lotus realms, sit on a lotus throne, observe the buddha nature, and be unhindered.

Living Buddha Lian-sheng's leaving the ordinary world symbolizes awakening from a century old dream to the fact that in this mundane world, there is no true home anywhere, and wishing that sentient beings will soon realize that they should begin cultivation as early as possible to reach their home of true self.

Living Buddha Lian-sheng left the mundane world to become a teacher of heaven and mankind; to become one who is free of afflictions, who completely severs affinities with the mundane world, and who reaches enlightenment with the sun and moon as his companions.

Living Buddha Lian-sheng was once an impoverished youth, a poet, a writer, and one who craved fame and fortune. Although once in first place, I also failed entrance exams. I had the divine eye, read fortunes, drew talismans, and knew mantras and mudras. I was well known and capable of earning a great fortune. However, I realized even more clearly that in the end, fame and fortune would become nothing whatsoever. Mountains of gold and silver would also become meaningless. Days of youth would pass, and the hair on my temples would grow white. Time would also fly by swiftly as an arrow.

Living Buddha Lian-sheng has long been enlightened. Attaining this state of extraordinary wisdom is truly exceptional. Those with true realization are few while those with fake realization are many. In these 20 mindful and resolute years, I have attained a state of true realization. I now offer this caution to everyone: life and death are truly significant, so do not fall into indifference. Set your goals early and in due time, you will achieve results.

These questions are in the minds of many, 'Where did I come from? Where am I going?' From where was I born? Where does death disappear to? Where is my home?

I will give you all a road map of cultivation. If you want to know the true meaning of life, extinguish the cycle of birth and death, and understand the cause and effect of events, quickly take refuge in Living Buddha Lian-sheng of the True Buddha School. Diligently practice the True Buddha Vajrayana. Cultivate one session per day, do not falter, and always be steadfast in your practice. Apply yourself with dedication and forget the mundane world and the notion of self. In this way, you will naturally attain realization. This is the purpose of Patriarch Bodhidharma coming from the west.

The ordination of Living Buddha Lian-sheng is a vast and perfect journey, the journey of past patriarchs, infinite holy bodies, and the true significance of everything.''

Shakyamuni Buddha's entrusted Ksitigarbha with the mission of saving sentient beings because Ksitigarbha was a monk. His Holiness Living Buddha Lian-sheng's renunciation corresponds to this same reason. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva made this vow, ''As long as the hells are not empty, I will not become a buddha.'' Living Buddha Lian-sheng made this vow, ''Even if my body is shattered and my bones are crushed, I will not forsake a single sentient being!'' This is the spirit of a bodhisattva, giving fearlessly!

For the True Buddha School, Feb. 10th of lunar calendar is a vast, perfect and auspicious day. Since this day, disciples of Living Buddha Lian-sheng who seek ordination have been able to find a true home in the True Buddha School. From then on, the ordained sangha of the True Buddha School, whose mission is to wholeheartedly propagate True Buddha Vajrayana and save sentient beings, has steadily grown larger and stronger every day!

To express our gratitude and appreciation on this auspicious day of celebrating the ordination anniversary of Living Buddha Lian-sheng, let's all 5 million disciples throughout the world, regardless of where we may be, recite the True Buddha Sutra one time with a heart of utmost purity.

Heaven and earth mutually praise
Bright and brilliant
Wishing our Guru Buddha
A long and healthy life
Vastly saving sentient beings
While turning the Dharma wheel for all time
