Lotus Light Charity Society (Indonesia) Spreads Loving-kindness

2020.05.22

Fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam, and Muslims around the world continue to uphold this tradition. In Indonesia, home to the world's largest Muslim population, Hari Raya Idul Fitri, also known as Lebaran, is a national holiday that marks the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan. Muslims express gratitude via prayers and celebrate this day in many ways -- connecting with family, friends and relatives, or spending the day with employees, the poor and homeless, or children in orphanages, sharing blessings with the less fortunate. Many charity events are held during this period, and Zakat is distributed to the poor and needy.

Master Lian Fei (蓮飛上師), the abbot of Indonesia Lei Tsang Temple (印尼雷藏寺), led fellow dharma siblings to give out Hari Raya Idul Fitri complimentary gift food items to people passing by, warming everyone's hearts.
