True Buddha School Benjue Lotus Light Charity Society Branch (Benjue LLCS Branch), which is located in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, East Malaysia, held a charity event to give out lunch boxes from 1 November 2020, and distributed a total of over 8000 lunchboxes.
The total quantity of items given out include: 350kg of rice, 2700 eggs, 7 boxes of oil, 150kg of vegetables, 550kg of chicken meat, 40kg of fish cake, 100 boxes of masks; adding up to a total value of around 7000 Malaysian Ringgit.
In addition, Benjue LLCS Branch (本覺華光功德會) also donated and distributed disinfectant, tables, chairs, electric fans, beverages, dry food items and so on, to numerous government hospitals. Member of Parliament Mr. Chen Hong Lian (陳泓濂大德)gave a speech thanking Benjue LLCS Branch for their charity work.
On 9th November, the Kota Kinabalu City Lunchbox Distribution Charity Event (亞庇市區派發飯盒慈善活動) successfully ended, and Benjue LLCS Branch deeply appreciates benefactors’ generosity and support.
Meanwhile in Johor, West Malaysia, Lotus Light Charity Society (Malaysia) - Jin Hai Branch (馬來西亞華光功徳會金海分會)visited Taman Ungku Tun Aminah in Skudai, a low-cost housing estate on 7th November, a Saturday afternoon. Undeterred by rainy weather, volunteers from Jin Hai Branch continued to distribute “Lotus Light Gift Packs of Loving Aid” to impoverished local residents to help ease their burdens.
Little deeds of kindness and kind thoughts, multiplied by many people, accumulate to form a long, continuous stream of positive power. This is the compassion of Lotus Light Charity Society, spanning the South China Sea, warming hearts across East and West Malaysia.
